Eileen ChaiOn her part, Eileen broke our 30-year-old 100m hurdles mark while taking part in the 16th Asian Athletics Championships in Incheon, South Korea. The 27-year-old clocked 14.81 secs to finish sixth in her heats, breaking Heather Merican's previous record of 14.83 secs. Granted, her time is still slower than the bronze medal-winning time of 13.87 secs from the 2003 SEA Games, the benchmark for SEA Games selection. And she clearly has a long way to go to match the top 100m hurdlers from countries like China, Japan, South Korea, Thailand and Malaysia. Even so, this is a nice comeback for Eileen who used to be a national gymnast, diver and runner before she called it quits, only to return rather recently.
